Today in Thessaloniki we boarded a bus with our tour guide. We toured more of the city which was built in 316 B.C. It was named after the wife of the Macedonian King who was the sister of Alexander the Great. Here is where Saint Paul wrote his letter to the Thessalonians.
Among the landmarks we toured were the Roman Market, the Arch of Galerius, some of the remnants of the City Walls, the Citadel and the White Tower. Also we saw the statue of Alexander the Great astride his horse. We also visited the Archaeological Museum and saw how gold was used in the making of artifacts.
