Caught a rock chip today!

Have no idea where it came from. I saw it coming in a big arc and realized as soon as it hit what it was, but there was no stopping it. Only one car approaching us head on and I didn't see anyone hanging out a window tossing rocks. It was on a state highway in southern Alabama, out in the rural area. It will remain a mystery. . . a meteor? a part off an airplane?

It covered us with glass, but fortunately the safety glass crumbles more than shatters. We happened to have a dust buster in the trailer, so stopped a short time later and cleaned it up. It probably is a good thing I didn't have time to react. Had I slowed down or swerved one way or the other it may have hit lower and gone through the windshield and hit one of us.

Stay safe out there. . .

Till next time. . .

Good to hear from you, Alicia. We were lucky it hit right where it did. . . a little this way, a little that way, a little down, could all have been deadly. Thank goodness I just kept going and didn't swerve.

We will be there sometime in November probably, but staying all winter.

Looking forward to seeing you.

I would guess it was something falling out of the sky! You hear about airplanes loosing pieces all the time - that's why I won't fly - LOL. Glad your both safe.

I think you are right, Janice. I read that you are 30 times more likely to die from being hit by falling aircraft parts that getting bit by a shark. Terry is on his way back from the glass place. It actually bent the windshield frame. The repair guy said that rarely happens and it had to be something heavy and traveling at a good speed. He said if it had hit an inch lower it would have gone through the windshield.
